The district revenue officials have cleared 20 acres of government land worth Rs 678 crore encroached by various parties, including a private hospital and private school in Bengaluru urban district in a simultaneous operation on Friday.

BENGALURU: The district revenue officials have cleared 20 acres of government land worth Rs 678 crore encroached by various parties, including a private hospital and private school in Bengaluru urban district in a simultaneous operation on Friday.
Deputy commissioner of Bengaluru urban district V Shankar said that the lands that were cleared include five aces in Suvey No 154/11 belonging to government in Bilekahalli village in Bengaluru south east.

“A private hospital had encroached and constructed a building on the encroached land. A notice has been served on the hospital authorities as early as March 16 to clear from the land worth over Rs 600 crore,” the DC added.
In another operation in Bengaluru east taluk's Byrathi village survey No 28 a private school had encroached one care land, while another private individual in Devarakere survey No. 112 in an extent of 12.36 acres. Both lands worth Rs 60 crore was cleared on Friday, Shankar said.
In Anekal taluk, a land measuring 4.36 acres in Sarjapur hobli, in Survey No 69 of Madappanahalli village and another 1.06 acres in TC Halli worth in all Rs 18 crore was also cleared in a separate operation on Friday, the official said.
